Minimalist Product Ad - Stills
Style DNA
- Four background templates. Pick one and hold it across every plate:
- White-tech - simple matte white with a soft gradient falloff. It is NOT a mirrored white stage: no reflective floors, glass tables, or studio mirror surfaces, and no dead-flat clinical white either.
- Dark rim-light - near-black field, one or two rim highlights tracing the product edge.
- Brand color field - a single saturated field derived from the product's own main color.
- Light lifestyle - bright, softly defocused real-world context, product sharply separated.
- Product body color is a hard fidelity rule. "Apple-style" means clean composition, premium light, restraint, and negative space - it does not mean turning the product white, silver, or earbud-like. Original body color, accent color, material tint, and finish must survive in every plate. Only background, lighting, and composition shift toward the template.
- Lighting: one soft key with gentle wrap, controlled speculars that describe material (grain, brushed metal, gloss). Premium softbox language, never harsh flash.
- Negative space is content. The frame should feel uncrowded; impact comes from a striking product angle, not decoration.
- Typography rules:
- Single line, 3-5 English words, at most 32 characters including spaces. Never 1-2 word feature labels.
- Font: SF Pro Display Semibold (Inter or Helvetica Now Display are acceptable stand-ins).
- At most two text colors per frame, split two-part: on white-tech the first half is black or dark gray (never white on white); on dark rim-light the first half may be white. The second half is always the specific product main color - "first half black, second half purple," never a generic silver/white accent.
- Tone: sensory, benefit-led, material-led, or a light value proposition. No sales slogans, no e-commerce feature-tag wording.
- Text placement: the vertically centered visual zone, left- or right-aligned as part of the composition - slightly large, integrated near the product edge, surface, or highlight so it reads as part of the photograph, never a caption. Never a lower subtitle position, never stacked or wrapped to two lines.
Subjects & framing
- Best subjects: physical products - earbuds, watches, gadgets, small appliances, accessories, food, toys, fragrance devices. Not talking heads, not complex UI screens.
- Aspect ratios: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, or 3:4. Choose once; every plate in the set keeps the exact same ratio.
- Multi-variant products: decide one main variant first. Supporting colors appear only in a variant-relationship frame or the closing composition - never an e-commerce matrix, nine-grid, product wall, or all-colors-laid-flat spread.
- Safe areas: product silhouette fully clear, the single copy line readable, main variant never blocked. Add a logo only if a real one is supplied - never invent one.
Still set
A product shot set of independent standalone photographs - never a 3- or 4-panel sheet, grid, split screen, collage, or storyboard board. Each plate is delivered as its own finished image; together they read as one campaign.
- Hero plate - the most attractive view: strong silhouette, striking angle, negative space held open on the side the composition leads toward. Avoid an ugly extreme material close-up as the lead image.
- Material / mechanism plate - macro of surface grain, reflection, tactile quality, plus the most important visible mechanism (lid, hinge, crown, port, clasp, screen). Merge structure cues here rather than making a fourth plate, unless the mechanism truly needs its own reference.
- Action frame (optional) - the product caught mid-action: lid open 30 degrees with inner reflection, crown mid-rotation with a highlight caught along the edge. Concrete and product-specific, never "product state changes."
- Variant-family frame (multi-variant only) - main variant leading, supporting colors as an ordered layer behind it, negative space preserved.
- Final copy plate - the closing composition: stable product placement plus the confirmed copy line in final typography (font feel, position, single-line layout, two-part color). This locks the set's typography format.
HTML/CSS route
Copy plates, end cards, and variant compositions compose well in code around a cut-out product PNG - as fully static layouts:
- Background:
background: #fffor a subtleradial-gradientvignette (white-tech);#0a0a0cwith a positioned highlight gradient (dark rim-light). - Product: transparent PNG with
filter: drop-shadow(0 24px 48px rgba(0,0,0,.18))for a grounded soft shadow - never a mirror reflection. - Type:
font-family: "SF Pro Display", Inter, "Helvetica Neue", sans-serif; font-weight: 600;with the two-part color as two<span>s inside one non-wrapping line (white-space: nowrap). - Rim light on dark plates: a duplicated product layer masked to the edge with a light
linear-gradientandmix-blend-mode: screen. - Hero and material macros still need photography or an image model - CSS cannot fake believable material grain.
Also check source quality before generating: if the reference photo is soft, badly lit, or hides the mechanism, plates inherit the weakness - request a sharper reshoot (clean background, even light, mechanism visible) rather than generating around it.
Failure modes
- Recoloring the product body toward white/silver "Apple palette" - the emphasis color must come from the real product.
- Mirrored floors, glass tables, reflective stages, or dead-flat white lighting.
- Any grid, panel sheet, split screen, collage, framed board, or product wall - as a plate or inside a plate.
- Two text rows, title + subtitle pairs, wrapped lines, or more than one copy line visible at once.
- 1-2 word feature labels, promo-slogan tone, e-commerce feature-tag wording.
- Arrows, slashes, plus signs, or separators written into copy (models render them as in-frame text).
- White text on a white background; more than two text colors in a frame.
- Fake logos, fake tech interfaces, glass cards, particles, unconfirmed metrics, decorative text walls.
Copy-ready prompt
Copy the block, then describe your product at the end. The background colors named inside are this style's defaults β swap any of them for your own; your product's own colors are a hard constraint and are never replaced.
Minimalist premium product photograph in a restrained editorial style. Simple
matte white background with a soft gradient falloff and soft neutral-gray
shadow tones β not a mirrored stage: no reflective floor, no glass table, no
dead-flat clinical white (default palette β replace any of these with your own
colors: a near-black field with one or two rim highlights tracing the product
edge, a single bold color field drawn from the product's own main color, or a
bright softly defocused real-world setting with the product sharply
separated). The product itself always keeps its original body color, accent
colors, material tint, and finish exactly β never recolored, never pushed
toward white or silver. One soft key light with gentle wrap and controlled
speculars that describe the material β grain, brushed metal, gloss. Generous
negative space held open on the side the composition leads toward; impact
comes from a striking product angle, not decoration. No props, no invented
logos, no text in frame, no watermark. 16:9, editorial commercial product
photograph, restrained and premium.
